28 Lunar Mansions Qigong

This is a Weekly Drop-in style class.

$25/class

FREE for BIPOC

This weekly drop-in practice and study group will explore the 28 constellations known as the Lunar Mansions.

At one point in history, the movements of the feminine moon were deemed more important than those of the masculine sun. This was because of the moon’s closer proximity to earth, and its clear influence over harvest, fertility, and menstruation among other cyclical aspects of being human.

The ancient Chinese, Hindus, Egyptians, Arabians and Babylonians all had systems of understanding the moon’s orbit around the earth, and a whole astrological system based on these fixed stars, these mansions or stations through which the moon moves on its sidereal orbit.

This weekly class will meet on Mo(o)nday’s from 5:30-7 and will be comprised of a brief discussion of the lunar mansions followed by a full qigong practice that moves us one-by-one through the 28 constellations that make up this ancient sky map.
