Five Dragons Virtual Qigong Class—Drop-in Offering!
Five Dragons Qigong: Connecting to the five elemental forces of the universe
Intro to Qigong: One Thousand Hands Buddha (both in-person and on Zoom)
This is taught as a semi-annual offering as an introduction to the practice of qigong. However, both beginners and seasoned practitioners alike will benefit from the deep and transformational power of this practice.
This is an 8-Week course offered virtually on Zoom and in person at the beautiful and spacious Breathe Building in SE Portland.
In this class we will learn One Thousand Hands Buddha Qigong.
Qigong is the practice of working with life force energy known as qi. Practicing qigong is learning how to feel, circulate and generate this energy for the sake of healing both self and others. This particular form is centered around the healing and awakening of one’s heart wisdom. It is a deep and potent practice in cultivating compassion for self and all beings through reconnecting to our innate, embodied intelligence and the field of collective awareness.
The practice itself is a series of 14 meditative movements that serve as a gateway.
This practice comes from the lineage of Master Liu He, under whom I received my teaching certification.
Each class is 90 minutes and includes teachings on seasonal Daoist energetics, various self massage and warm up practices, mindful breathing techniques and the transformational practice of One Thousand Hands.
This is a favorite offering that many previous students sign up for multiple times.
Space for the in-person class at Breathe is limited.

Lunar Lodges Qigong (Virtual and In-Person Sessions)
In-Person Class: Four Wednesdays 5-7pm at the Breathe Building
Virtual Class: Five Sundays 3-5 PST on Zoom
*Class recordings available for missed classes.
The Chinese Lunar 宿 Xiù (Mansions, Lodges, Stations, etc.) are 28 constellations mapped out by the ancient Daoists, said to have originated around 10,000 years ago. The 28 Lunar Lodges Qigong form is a series of 28 movements meant to connect us to these constellations and the energies associated with each. Each constellation—like the western zodiac of the 12 signs—has its own significance and meaning. In this class we will be practicing the form, learning the original symbolism of each lodge and learning to apply them to our daily lives in order to bring ourselves more in sync with the orbit of the Moon—who according to the ancients, was more important than any of the other orbiting bodies due to its close vicinity and maternal, yin energy.
Students will be given the tools for creating a monthly lunar tracking system in order to learn how their individual experience is shaped by the orbit of the moon. This is meant to connect us to lunar cycles far beyond the phases of new and full. We will each learn the deep influence of this celestial mother on our day-to day experience of reality.
Like the Daoists, the Gnostics teach that the moon rules over the yin/physical aspects of our lives, with direct influence over our internal and external waters and emotions as well as the mechanics of our joints and tendons.
This Qigong practice and astrology system was taught to me by Master Zhongxian Wu of the Wu (shaman) lineage. The Wu were an ancient people of China who practiced and studied the energy of the earth and cosmos in order to understand and live according to these cycles and utilize them for health and healing.
This class will be offered both virtually and in-person!

Intro to Qigong Summer 2021
Thousand Hands Buddha Qigong: A powerful ritual of heart opening, nervous system regulation and the cultivation of energetic agency.
LaoHu Gong: Chinese Shamanic Tiger Qigong Summer 2021
Connect with the vital energy of the tiger, the energetics of metal and the western direction. According to Master Wu, Tiger is the weaver of the universe. By learning the 24 movements of LaoHu Gong, we connect to the 24 energies that weave earth and sky together over the solar year.
Aligning with the White Tiger of the West, we enter the Void beyond the setting sun.
Instruction in the form is accompanied by group study of Master Zhongxian Wu’s book Chinese Shamanic Tiger Qigong: Embrace the Power of Emptiness
Five Dragons Qigong Spring 2021
Five Dragons is the first of the Mt. Emei school forms that I teach.
This form is full of movement, balance, strength training and powerful cultivation of qi—or life force energy. For this class we will introduce the traditional associations of the elemental forces of the universe as understood by the Daoist sages. This form is excellent for the dispersion of the anxious energy that becomes lodged in the body. We will be moving into springtime energy during the five weeks of this course and utilizing the new life force energy of this season to assist us in harmonizing, moving and circulating righteous qi.
This form is open to anyone without prerequisites. Though a slight qigong background is helpful it is not essential.
This course is from 3-5pm Pacific Time every Sunday from January 10th to February 7th.
Cost is $195 for registration after Dec. 31st and include 5 weeks of class plus one optional private 1 hour one-on-one session with me.
Classes will only be recorded with 24 hours notice of a missed class and available for one week after recording.
Looking forward to introducing you to the five dragons within <3
Intro to Qigong: Thousand Hands Buddha
This 5 week course serves as an introduction to Qigong—but is not restricted to beginners! The potency of Thousand Hands Buddha can greatly benefit all who learn and practice it.
This is a seated form that can be done anywhere.
A moving mindfulness practice of nervous system regulating, heart opening expansion and power. This is my favorite form to teach.
The course is taught over Zoom, beginning Thursday January 7th from 5-6:30 Pacific and continuing every Thursday with the last class day on February 4th.
Cost of registration after Dec. 31st is $175 and includes all 5 weeks plus an illustrated PDF guide and one optional one-hour private qigong lesson.
Classes will be recorded and available for one week past recording date for each in case you need to miss a class for any reason.
Message me directly to sign up!
Shamanic Tiger Qigong
This is a 5 week class from October 3rd to 31st, meeting on Zoom from 11-12:30 weekly.
Cost is $160, and includes a copy of the book Chinese Shamanic Tiger Qigong by Master Zhongxian Wu.
Inquire for available BIPOC discounts.
This is the most advanced and—in my opinion—deeply magical of the Mt.Emei school forms taught to me by Master Zhongxian Wu.
This form moves us through the 24 solar terms of the Chinese Calendar. These solar terms are two week climactic periods of changes on the earth, aligning us with the subtleties between and throughout the seasons of the solar year.
In this form we learn to embody the power and grace of the tiger. It is a very old form whose name LiHou, translates to “old” and “shamanic” Tiger. The tiger is a highly revered animal in magical Daoism, and the guardian of the western direction. We move through these patterns of earthly changes, mirroring the birthing of the cosmos.
Pre-requisites required: Thousand Hands Buddha Qigong (whole form) or other history of more than 1 year of practicing another qigong form.
Intro to Qigong: Thousand Hands Buddha
Thousand Hands Buddha is the first class taught in the Horse Cloud qigoing series. It is a simple yet powerful daily ritual for calming the nervous system and opening our hearts to compassion for self and all.
This is a 6 week course meeting every Thursday from 5-6:30 on Zoom. Students will be given an accompanying booklet on the form to reference for their home practice.
28 Lunar Mansions Qigong
This is a Weekly Drop-in style class.
$25/class
FREE for BIPOC
This weekly drop-in practice and study group will explore the 28 constellations known as the Lunar Mansions.
At one point in history, the movements of the feminine moon were deemed more important than those of the masculine sun. This was because of the moon’s closer proximity to earth, and its clear influence over harvest, fertility, and menstruation among other cyclical aspects of being human.
The ancient Chinese, Hindus, Egyptians, Arabians and Babylonians all had systems of understanding the moon’s orbit around the earth, and a whole astrological system based on these fixed stars, these mansions or stations through which the moon moves on its sidereal orbit.
This weekly class will meet on Mo(o)nday’s from 5:30-7 and will be comprised of a brief discussion of the lunar mansions followed by a full qigong practice that moves us one-by-one through the 28 constellations that make up this ancient sky map.
